Hey,
First off, I apologize if there has already been a thread somewhere here for Sonic Youth. I did not see one on the first page of this forum, so I assume there is no active discussion.

Any fans?

I was a HUGE fan of this band in the early 90's, around the time GOO came out. I really didn't keep up with their output following the mid-90's.

I found my old cassette recently of GOO and realized how awesome of an album that is.

Any opinions of this band?

Saw them live a few weeks ago on a festival but I didn't see too much of it cuz there were other bands playing. From what I saw and heard in that short period of time, they aren't bad.

I only own Daydream Nation, but I have a few of their other songs downloaded. Dear lord, Daydream Nation is incredible. Possibly the best double album I've ever heard.

Yeah, that album is truly amazing.
They performed it in its entirety at a festival here in Chicago this summer. I did not attend unfortunately.

Goo is a great album as well.

Another Sonic Youthfan here! But I´m more into their earlier stuff. Goo was the last album I bought. Unfortunately I somehow lost interest when they became more known in the early 90´s.( because of Nirvansa and Mudhoney)
Saw them at the Roskilde festival´87 and back then they had a sensational "unlistenabable" sound. Lovely katharsis for your ears!
That band will always occur on my list of longtimefavourites.
