cuz i think im gonna try it after i looked at exactly how it works a humbucker is 2 coils wired together so technically i can wire 2 single coils to do it so im gonna attempt to do so on this cheap johnson my drummer gave me... any ideas??
soooo has anyone ever wired 2 single coils together and made a humbucker ???

thats what i was thinking after i looked at the diagran from my Invader its a great pickup if u ever want a grunge/punk sound i play some pop punk type stuff in one band and the dimarzio in my strat didnt have the right sound

Plus humbuckers tend to have there coils wound a lot more than single coils for greater output...
if you want to try something cool, add a phase switch....

to where u can turn it on and off ?? i did that on mine and u can make like eddie van halenish sounds its cool i only have 1 pup in my punk guitar ... wired to a three way switch all the way down its on and u can toiggle between on and off real fast the resonant chamber makes a 20 dollar guitar sound like a pretty expensive one i think a 90 dollar pickup helps too though

a phase switch is where you have 2 coils active and when the phase switch is on, it reverses the polarity of one of the coils so thats its out of phase with the other coil, creating some interesting tones. Doing this also provides a "psudo-bucker" as I like to call it, cancelling out a lot of noise, not as much as a full 'bucker, but close.
rad ima try it when i turn it off will my guitar go back to being in just like a reg humbucker?? if so do u have a diagram i can use ??

worse espec when i only have 1 pup in there theres not much going on its pretty straight forward ill go get another three way switch tomm i dont have a tone knob anymore it didnt do anything and i need like a megohm pot for the volume cuz 500k doesnt do anything its either up all the way or not on at all
another cool thing w/ my pup is when i trun it off at high volumes on distortion chanel it comes out clean about half the volume of the amp so i can switch from clean to like REALLY loud by flipping my toggle and due to the resonant chamber we created when you talk it comes through the guitar pickup just as if i was talking to you

Make sure u get the polarities right if u make a humbucker. I think they have to be going opposite directions or something..... or maybe that was something else.

Play with polarities between taps of two humbuckers (need four-wire outs for the pickups like DiMarzio has) - now that will give some righteous tones. But the switch(es) would be heinous in size.
im about to try that i took out the tone knob so i have a slot for a switch thatd be huge a 3 way so ima make it where i can switch in and out of polarity
i wired it w/ the phase switch yesterday i love the nasaly tone from it being outta phase great for punk music what i play on this guitar thx for the tips
