Soundcard for recording high quality guitar DI's?

need it for hardware or software reamping

interesting in your opinions which soundcard is the best for that tasks?

platform: win7, usb 2.0 in priority but 3.0 are welcome too.

budget about 800-1000$

Most cards in that range have roughly similar quality converters so pick the one that you like most or fits your needs I/O-wise the best. I would wait a couple of weeks and see what new models they release at Namm. I personally went with a Steinberg UR for no apparent reason, it had the I/O I needed and I liked the way it looked (steel casing etc). Not saying you should pick a sound card based purely on looks though.
