soundcard question

hi guys, when I use my DAW i cant use another programmes with sound simultaneously because it starts to mess up and sounds like 8bit mess. Also after i use my DAW and close it it affects my soundcard for a short period where it sounds like an atari again lol. Eg. I have just closed reaper then open youtube, it sounds all messed up, close browser, re-open, rinse and repeat until it goes back to normal. I will occasionally get a really really loud beeping sounding

Im probably doing something noobie but is there a solution for this?

Sounds like driver issues, and also that your interface/soundcard doesn't support simultaneous ASIO and WDM streams; mine doesn't either, a minor inconvenience, but whenever I alt-tab out of Reaper I always click the thing in the top-right corner (that displays all the latency times) to quickly disable the ASIO part, works fine
