I had an england made spirit studio24 back in 2000's. It was a pretty decent desk, pre's are just ok, nothing very special but definetly not a crap, thay seemed a little noisy on a quiet sources but ok in general. EQ is what I realy liked and missed ITB for some time, but not now when you have lot's of good sounding plugins, for that amount of money it is a good deal (I bought mine for 2500$ but it was england not chinese) But be prepared to spend some extra cash for it's maintance, that faders and gain knobs were bitching me all the time. I know lot's of guys doing mods replacing some stuff in it and they get a realy good sounding desk out of it after all. I've also tried to mix through it but the whole process of mixing through a real desk is a pain in the ass for me aspecialy because I usualy work on 3-4 different mixing projects at the same time and need to switch from one to another.
