This band was fucking amazing. God I wish they never would have broke up. I've heard shit about a reunion for a while now, but I don't think it will ever happen. They made 3 killer albums in Badmotorfinger, Superunknown, and Down of the Upside. The others are just ok imo. I've been listening to them a lot lately and I just wanna give them some props for being such a killer band.

n/p: Soundgarden-Down on the Upside

Yeah, I also liked Soundgarden alot. Still listen to them occasionaly. I've got the "A-sides" album which has got all the good songs on there. Definately the best band to come out of the whole Seattle grunge thang, hehe.

last I heard..the lead singer of Soundgarden took over the lead spot of Rage Against the Machine..after the lead singer of that band left..they plan on getting rid of the rap stuff..and going pure hardcore metal...

Yeah the song Killing in the name of ... would have been alot better with better vocals , I always did like rage , but I hated the vox . What was one of soundgarden's better song's so I can refresh my memory

I used to like this band a lot when I was sixteen...

LOL

Remb. when Soundgarden won best Metal album at the Grammy's, and they got up there laughing...something like "We made this METAL album becuase we love METAL...we always though we were METAL"

these guys were my favorite band for a while. i have all of their cds, and a bunch of records they released. hell, look at my email address...can anyone tell what that stands for? :) some good songs:

birth ritual
limo wreck
jesus christ pose

well i agree with godmachine, the last 3 albums they made were really good. i'm glad i caught them in chicago back in '96, a few months before they disbanded.

Ya soundgarden is pretty cool, they have some good cd's to listen to when you drive in your car, like bad motorfinger. and superunknown. I used to be a hugs fan of soundgarden, then there was opeth............:)

Well they aren't gonna be Rage anymore. They've recorded a whole bunch of songs already. Nothing is really set as far as I know. When I first heard the news I was like, "man Cornell can't rap, he will sound like shit with Rage". But you never know. It will probably kick ass since he is such a good songwriter and singer. I'm glad they decided to change the name.

this thread made me dig up all my old soundgarden tapes and listen for hours, wow i forgot how good superunknown was, but i just love black hole sun since i first heard it in spain years ago i can still remember it (how sad)

I'm glad they decided to change the name.

I did not know they changed their names, but that is good. I wish more bands would do that when they change music styles enough.

Soundgarden was one of the best bands to come out of Seatle IMO. Badmotorfinger... that album is just freaking cool.. such good memories connected with it.. Haven't listened to them for quite a while though.

BTW I have Chris Cornell solo album and it has a couple of very good songs. The last thing I heard was that Cornell was going to Rage Against The Machine and that Chris De Garmo (ex-Queensryche guitarist) would be working on a project with Cornell's brother.

Yeah, men! Soundgarden were really cool! I liked Pearl Jam more, but PJ's "Binaural" is such a shit ! "Superunknown" and "Badmotorfinger" by Soundgarden and "Yield" & "Ten" by Pearl Jam are my faves from grunge-rock'n'roll stuff.
(Sorry, if it's not grunge and rock'n'roll at all, I'm a doomster and don't know, what is it really:))
