I'm familiar with the obvious stuff.

Thinking of stuff more in the vein of Ozric Tentacles, ITCoTCK-era KC, and AHM/Meddle/Saucerful floyd

anything that'll make me feel trippy without being boring or "ambient," really; incorporating metal elements is an added plus (but don't recommend mithras or any post-metal stuff like Isis...)

I know there's a "spacey metal" thread up but he seems to be looking for something quite a bit different than me

Porcupine Tree - Listen to: The Sky Moves Sideways. Extremely trippy stuff. Try these songs: Moon Touches Your Shoulder, Moontrip, TSMS pt.1 and 2. or try their live CD Coma Divine especially the live version of Moontrip. Can't say enough about how good this band is.

Also try the Australian band Alchemist.
