A bit of a last minute announcement, but it turns out organising tours is a pain in the scrot. Here's the official Eulogy Media press release:
PROGRESSIVE DEATH METAL CO-HEADLINE UK TOUR ANNOUNCED FOR APRIL 2015
Artist collective and home-grown label Eulogy Media present one of this years most promising co-headline tours from the UKs progressive death metal underground scene.
-----
Despite the slow-but-steady demise of alternative venues nationwide, Britain remains one of the most prominent sources of extreme metal on an international scale. Its with this threat on the horizon that two of the more auspicious acts to emerge from this countrys progressive death metal scene head out to answer a well placed demand.
Described by The Guardian newspaper as cerebral but endlessly soulful... an extraordinarily assured and involving work, The Whisperer by Mancunian quartet Spires was released this winter and has quickly gathered considerable support in national and international press, drawing comparisons with Ihsahn, Opeth and Ne Obliviscaris. Their live show further confirms their notable talent for razor-sharp accuracy and precision in support of their particular blend of blackened harshness, thundering death metal and beguiling melody.
Norwichs Agonyst reliably provide a unique and undeniably edgy stage persona, combining fretboard pyrotechnics, stupefying polyrhythmic command and communication with their audience that goes beyond mere eccentricity. Their crazed blend of extremity and frenetic technical skill places them in an almost indefinable pocket of progressive metal that their forthcoming full length release Bad Old Days at the end of this Spring will confirm.
As part of the Southern leg of the tour, both Spires and Agonyst will be joined by Candlelight Records British death metal heavyweights Ancient Ascendant on their London date at Camdens legendary Devonshire Arms a lineup that simply cannot be missed.
With both tour-mates coming in to the Eulogy Media family, Spires & Agonyst join Rannoch, talanas, Dām and Beth Ryan as part of a collective of like-minded acts who aim to re-model the association of the signed artist with its own roster-led self sufficiency.
