Highly touted Desert Rock act Spiritu, who Kerrang! called "Herculean in scope and stature... skull-crushingly heavy and unique", have been confirmed as openers on the Monstergroove 2003 tour with headliners Clutch and Spiritual Beggars. The quartet, hailing from New Mexico, released their self-titled debut album through MeteorCity & I Used To Fuck People Like You In Prison Records last November to huge acclaim. Featuring six songs - three of which weigh in at nine minutes - the album was recorded by quasi-grunge/riff-rock board legend Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden, Mudhoney) and has earned the band heaps of praise throughout the European press. Spiritu's highly anticipated live debut in Europe is March 25th, with a quartet of UK shows in early April. Dates as follows:
