Doomcifer, IOfTheStorm etc, what do you think of this band (because I assume you've heard them)?

Their 2004 album seems pretty impressive from the song I've heard! Maybe I should buy it! I think probably I should!

One of the doom bands i never heard and im very curious to hear. I think they just released an album some years ago..i might be wrong. Anyway i hear they are recording a new one so hurray
Yeah, they've been together since 1987 and released like 15 demos -- they are said to be the very first Finnish doom metal band -- but they only released their first full-length CD in 2004. I'm going to upload a track for you, here:

I imagine you might like this quite a bit.

That's gotta feel so strange, to be a part of a band that's been around for longer than most of the bands that dominate today's scene and to have not even put out a full length. Glad they finally got around to it!

Black Lotus Records:

The first band in Finland to be called as a DOOM act is SPIRITUS MORTIS. Formed in late summer of 1987 their unique sound can be heard from the very early demos: growling bass, massive guitars and viciously thundering drums. Cult following was gained by reviews of demos and furious gigs… Their self-titled debut album was released in January 2004 on the now defunct Rage Of Achilles label and fell like a dark day with icy rain onto the doom metal community…

Now SPIRITUS MORTIS have joined the ranks of Black Lotus and their second offering entitled “Fallen” will doom this world in February 2006. Vocalist Vesa Lampi comments: "After 18 years of existence Spiritus Mortis is still alive and kicking. Charging like a herd of overweight rhinos. And now filled up with Ouzo! We are really looking forward to this co-operation with BLR, so let's spread some SM disease!"
