Montreal’s MTelus was transformed into a high-octane haven for industrial and nu-metal enthusiasts on June 10, 2025.
The night was a relentless night of heavy, gritty energy as Dope, Static-X, and GWAR delivered a three-act assault of industrial metal and theatrical mayhem on this Machines vs. Monsters tour.
Kicking things off, Dope set the tone with a raw and aggressive set that ignited the room early. Edsel Dope commanded the stage with snarling vocals and unfiltered attitude, delivering crowd-pleasers like “Die MF Die” and “Debonaire” with unhinged intensity. The band’s blend of nu-metal aggression and industrial bite had longtime fans roaring and newcomers immediately drawn in. Dope was loud, dirty, and unapologetically in-your-face.
GWAR followed with pure, bloody spectacle, transforming MTelus into an intergalactic battlefield of gore and satire. The band’s absurd, ultra-violent stage antics complete with decapitations, alien overlords, and gallons of fake blood were as chaotic as ever, but underneath the madness was a razor-sharp musical performance. Tracks like “Sick of You,” “Womb With A View” and “Gor-Gor” crushed with weight and wit. As fans emerged drenched and grinning, one thing was clear: this wasn’t just a show, it was a full-blown ritual of noise, violence, and catharsis. Montreal’s metalheads got exactly what they came for and everybody went back home soaked in blood.
Static-X followed with their signature brand of cybernetic groove metal, unleashing a tight, high-energy set that honored their roots while pushing forward. Xer0’s masked presence brought eerie charisma to the stage, channeling Wayne Static with chilling precision as the band powered through hits like “Push It,” “Cold,” and “Bled For Days.” The lighting, visuals, and pulsing electronics turned MTelus into a post-apocalyptic rave, and the crowd never stopped moving. Static-X proved they’re still a force to be reckoned with in the industrial scene.
