Steeler-American Metal

I actually pulled out my old cassette of that Steeler album last spring. I hadn't heard it in at least 15 years! It sounded pretty clunky, not much better than a modern day demo recorded in someone's basement. It was fun to listen to Yngwie's early shreds though...before he mastered the art.

Ron Keel's vocals, though. I never did care for them much.

You think the Steeler songs are going to be remastered, Sixx?

On this upcoming disc the studio tracks sound pretty damn good, though they don't feature Yngwie on guitar. It's the live material that features Yngwie and those sound rough as they are more or less "bootlegs." I sure wish Mike Varney would remaster Steeler and the first two Racer X discs...
