Former RATT singer Stephen Pearcy says that he is still on a "permanent vacation" from the band and insists that he is focusing on his solo career and other projects.Even though Pearcy announced his depature from RATT in April 2014, he stated in an interview last August that he was leaving "the door open" to make another album with the band, which would mark RATT's first studio release since the return of bassist Juan Croucier.However, in a brand new chat with Eddie Trunk for the "Trunk Nation" radio show on SiriusXM's Hair Nation, Pearcy seemed to completely shut down the possibility of working with his former bandmates again. He said: "I think it's a permanent vacation. I'm just doing what I'm gonna do, and I still have other interests and enjoying some time. I'm not going out and playing a lot, just playing just to play. And [I'm] working on other things. But it's a permanent vacation, and as far as I'm concerned; the door's shut. The time has passed for a record. But I don't know
It took ten years for the last record, so I can't say. But as far as playing [together again], no. [There is] nothing else [planned], as far as I'm concerned, right now."According to Pearcy, he is no longer in contact with any of the RATT members except for Juan, with whom he speaks "a lot." He added: "I'm sure [Juan and I will] be working together in the future somehow. But that's about it."Pearcy is currently in the studio recording "about a dozen songs" for a new solo album, including the track "I Can't Take It", which was premiered during "Trunk Nation". The singer said: "I wanna record about 20 [songs] possibly 25 and release a song every few weeks, when it's done [and] ready, and everybody will get a new single until they get a complete, huge album CD package."Regarding "I Can't Take It", Pearcy said: "It has the RATT signature sound because [early RATT producer] Beau Hill got back into the mix. We've always been in contact, and I told him, 'Look, I'm recording so much music.' And it's very diverse, very straightforward, very experimental stuff. And he was interested. And at the end of day, he mixed, mastered, and it's, like, alright, we're ready to go. Let's see where this takes us.
