Steven King's Cell to be a movie

I just saw that Eli Roth (Cabin Fever, Hostel) will bring Cell to the big screen. Roth and King are reportedly going to work on a screenplay after Roth finishes Hostel 2.
Now I have to read the book befor the movie ruins it for me.

Maybe they will tell us how the Pulse happened.......I seemed to miss that in the book.... I mean they never really said what caused it...... Pointed to Terrorist...but ?????

it's written from the point of view of a character cut off from the rest of the world. So if he doesn't figure it out within the time frame of the book then we don't figure it out either. With a complete breakdown in communication most people would never find out what happened.

that was one of the things i liked about the book - it was all assumptions. Like you said - it's about 1 guy who knows little about what is happening. It makes it a little more believable. I hate in movies how 1 guy all the sudden knows all the answers (see independance day and every other action movie ever) and saves the world almost by himself.

I just......... was hoping they would not make this into a movie. It was a pretty good book for a 'retired' writer. And movies based on books almost always suck ass. And I thought "hostel" was a bigger waste of money then a whore with the hep - so I don't see much promise. Maybe they will get a killer cast? PLEASE no more Johny Depp!
