Steven Wilson of porcupine tree (& opeth prod.)

Hi,

Steven Wilson is also the singer of Blackfield (along with israeli singer Aviv Geffen). Their first record is absolutely great, nice melodies and excellent production (as usual with Steven Wilson).

Does this mean that he wants to produce OL's next album ? that would be great !!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I hope not
I dont want Orphaned Land to be "another Opeth".

Dude! You are forgetting about Porcupine Tree, his own project. Nothing to do with metal and still quality.
OL will never become Opeth. The bandmembers themselves will not allow it, I suppose.

Welcome aboard Yaz!
and to your question: Everything's possible!!
I bet OL will remain OL even if they`ll play Trance music :kickass:

Well i adore Porcupine Tree, i just dont see Wilson fitting in anything O.L. related
but thats just my opinion of course
SW is a very talanted guy...
I'd like to see him cooperating with OL. Might be a good one.

First of all......as i understood yesterday.....OL did ask him in the past to produce an album (Mabool?).....but he was really busy that time.....
I spent most of the gig with him.....and he really liked the show.....

and it is very important to add.....Steven is a master producer......he did a great job with his bands and projects, as well as with Opeth......but he had the chance to produce other albums as well.....like Anja Garbarek, who is a norwegian singer , with jazz influences......
so.....he's a multi-styled producer.......of course he puts his signature on the albums.....but the main sound is the artist's one.....and that's why he love the production......

in my opinion.....(like Avi's).....OL will stay OL forever......
and Steven just can add to that......

100% agree. It would be EXCELLENT if they work together.

Just so long as Steven Wilson doesn't open his mouth in front of a microphone. It's not that he has a bad voice, it just got old fast.
He did a good production for Paatos' Kallocain album, for sure.
