ahh to be a carefree 15 year old again *wistful sigh* ...STP are a pretty damn fine straight up 'rock' band. the albums before the singer dude went to jail and came back all drug free and BS are pretty damn good. good riffage, good vocals, just overal some good midpaced rockingness. the shit on the radio in the early-mid 90s is fucking exponentially better than the shit thats on now. i urge all you fuckers to re-examine this old gem!

Purple had some great songs, Big Empty, Interstate Love Song, and Meat Plow, to me, are the highlights. Core had it's moments, but purple has a better overall feeling in my opinion.

It's odd, during the heyday of "grunge" I was only into Chains and Soundgarden. Years later I still own those albums, though my tastes have grown considerably broader so I don't listen to them very often. STP was one of those bands I missed out on, but I always thought I should pick up those albums since I liked the songs I heard.

I had Purple and liked it a lot. Occasionally pull it out and still dig a lot of songs on there. Its one of those bands in the 90s that I just had the one CD and I didn't really like anything before or since from them.

This song reminds me of being 15/16, laying in my bedroom on a summer night with incense burning, getting ready to sneak out to go smoke cigarettes and drink 40s with my friends in the middle of the night.

STP was my favorite band for the majority of my late teens. The chorus on Interstate Love Song is so perfect, it STILL gives me goosebumps.
