Stop Recommending Bands Please

Tyrant in Distress
For the love of God, I'm gonna go broke...

Here's some recommendations for y'all, some of which have already been talked about in other threads, but I like to repeat myself.

Antithesis (http://www.antithesismusic.com)
Antithesis is excellent technical thrash from Ohio, I believe. Both of their CDs (S/T and Dying For Life) are excellent. You can order from the band directly, from CD Baby, or get Dying For Life from http://www.theendrecords.com.

Corum (http://www.cdbaby.com and http://www.mp3.com do a search)
Corum are good groove-oriented technical metal. Some of the songs aren't as technical as others, but I like the 4 songs that I could download.

Echosilence (http://www.echosilence.net)
Echosilence is excellent instrumental technical metal from Estonia; they are only in demo stages but you can buy both demos for $10 if you send it to them directly (I emailed them about it, they said they are CD-Rs, but they include an insert). The production on Demo '97 is weak, but Eclectic Collaborations sounds much better. The music is worth it, IMO.

Into Eternity (http://www.intoeternity.com)
Into Eternity is excellent power/death metal; their new CD isn't available currently, but I emailed him and he said he's almost done getting a distribution deal. You can still get their S/T, though.

Play Dead (http://www.cdbaby.com and http://www.mp3.com do a search)
Play Dead has kind of crappy production, but the music is excellent technical thrash. There are 2 versions of their debut, a demo, and a newer CD available on mp3.com (well, the newer version of the debut is on CD Baby). I haven't heard the new one, but the debut is excellent.

Power of Omens (http://www.powerofomens.com)
Power of Omens are really excellent progressive metal from San Antonio. Really, one of the best progressive metal bands I've heard.

Some of those were recommended to me by y'all, but I like 'em so much I'm now recommending them again. All of them except Power of Omens and Echosilence can be bought at http://www.cdbaby.com. Power of Omens I only found at http://www.centurymedia.com and Echosilence you order from the band.

Echosilence are great. It was probably me who plugged 'em here. It was me with the alarum aswell.

sorry jimbob

Yeah, Trapped, you were the first person to recommend Alarum to me (in the Nevermore board), but I discovered Echosilence by sheer dumb luck (searching for bands similar to Aghora on mp3.com). I'm just being silly, anyway. I love hearing new shit; it's just gonna take me a while to catch up with all the recommendations, hehe.

You know, that sounds like a threat, to me :) hehe...I'm almost caught up with everything. Only like 20 CDs on my want list; guess it's time to get some new recommendations.

BTW, Power of Omens is out of stock everywhere. Does anyone know where I might procure a copy? I was trying to set up a trade for it, but I haven't heard back on it for a while. Supposedly they're almost done with a new CD, too.

Yes, I am broke as well now due to spending too much on cds. I went to the bank yesterday and was shocked to find out my money is almost gone. I really need a job, but I am too lazy. I will probably get one in the summer, or else I'll die of boredom. :p

Echosilence are really good. I enjoyed the few mp3s I got from mp3.com, especially Straight Circle.

Antithesis are very good as well. I saw their drummer at ProgPower last year and was interested to check them out. I am glad I did. My brother just bought both of their albums as well as a t-shirt. I guess you could say he likes them as well. By the way, they are from Ohio.
