Didn't realize that this is actually out. Download it for free yeah! I'm thinking about going to best buy to get it today. Listening to Drag Ropes now. It's alright, not bad...it's like a mixture of Heritage and Porcupine tree. One interesting quote from Steve Wilson describing the album is this:

"the final part in the odd trilogy of records completed by (Opeth's) Heritage and Steven Wilson‘s brand new solo album Grace for Drowning."

ya, it's a good record. drag ropes is great, but lock howl and storm corrosion (the song) are better IMO. and i got it at a best buy establishment, which is unusual since they suck when it comes to albums.

I want to like it but really don't. You'd think I would, since Damnation is my favorite Opeth album and I like PT.

But fuck, this is boring. These aren't even real songs.

I just listened to the album, and while it doesn't suck, it doesn't really meet my expectations, either. It just feels like a collection of half-complete ideas without much coherence or direction presented in a train-of-thought fashion. It's pretty decent as ambient music and has some nice textures, but I'm having trouble digging my teeth into it. That's how I feel after one listen, anyway. I'm sure I'll explore it a bit more later.
