Right, a friend of mine is in a band (BEYOND SEVEN SIGNS) and it's really taking off. However, there's the small matter of (the illustrious) "haters."
They've from the beginning been receiving a lot of hassle as they are heavily inspired by the likes of Trivium, Bullet for my Valentine and Avenged Sevenfold. In fact the fabled Padge from Bullet for my Valentine, himself even helped make this song (I haven't mentioned yet but, the song is titled EMPTY) Padge, the man himself was incredibly impressed with their work.
However...
All across the globe, there are some close-minded, enfeebled dolts calling the poor guys "generic" for being inspired by the bands that they idolise! That having a member of a band you look up to feature, makes us "stock."
I mean, what is the solution? Do we enjoy music from other bands and feel inspired but, take no influences?
It's the idea that there's a poor struggling band out there, trying hard, to do something with their lives, receiving help from successful bands, trying to stand on their own two feet and ultimately get signed.
No.
They're getting called generic in return.
BEYOND SEVEN SIGNS - EMPTY
Is not generic! It's INSPIRED! It's a personal sonic portrait that tugs at the heart strings then crashes a heavy masterpiece right your way,
Be amazed. My friends are gonna come crashing your way and you'll be sorry if you miss anything. This is a force to be reckoned with.

The video went from 99 likes to 101 today which is great. On the other hand,
The video went from 49 dislikes to 67 today which I can't understand! Why are people so Hell-bent on hating them?! They're not even bad! What are peoples problems with this?

When it comes to bands like this you have a very sudden line with most traditional metalheads, the style just doesn't suit them and they definitely make it known (either with direct replies or dislikes).

Not a bad tune, but not really my thing style wise. I can appreciate it, but for my personal tastes I don't buy much of this style metal.
