Stupid Question (Or Not?) About Fretless Guitars

can I make my Fretted guitar fretless?, what do you think?

yep, pull out the frets with pliers and fill the cracks with wood glue. my buddy put little shims in the slots, then glued away on his fretless bass. he modified a set of clippers with a lathe and it worked perfect for pulling out the frets without scratching the neck wood

I have seen people heat the frets to heat up the glue (loosen it up) and then pull out the frets. I have only seen this done on a bass.

Yeah, I saw a guide on how to unfret a neck, I'll come back when I've found it. It's basically heating the frets up with a soldering iron and pulling them out with some big ass modified pliers, looked pretty easy.

Can I ask why would you want a fretless guitar?

It wasn't that one, but it's saying exactly the same thing. I might try that with a crappy old argos guitar or something.
