Sturmfuhrer

I know there was the whole thread on racist metal, but what is "Nazi-music" exactly? Is it stuff about World War 2? Or is it just about killing Jews?

I guess I'm trying to figure out the themes of the songs - there has to be some concept involved I guess - or perhaps the nazi stuff is just a gimmick to sell on shock value....

I'm guessing "Nazi-music" is music that involves a love for the white race. People in general aren't too smart, so they over-generalize.

I'm sure there are some bands that treat it like a tool to piss people off, like Anal Cunt, but then there are serious bands such as Graveland and Gontyna Kry. Most of the serious bands sing about ancestral pride and such. Not much different then what you would see on a Falkenbach album....

I keep hearing about Graveland - I must check them out.

I noticed Sturmfuhrer in The Pit magazine - well, I noticed the picture of Adolf Hitler! Anyway, they have their own website and it looks like some fat white guy from the middle-of-nowhere USA. There's a picture of him holding a swastika flag in front of the white house.

They had a couple of sample MP3's and I'm afraid to say that they sounded like boring crap, so the gimmick did not pay off (for me at least).

A lot of the NS bands do suck. Most of them are usually the "I'm more true than you!" type bands (think Mutiilation and Vlad Tepes). Graveland is a great band, IMO. Especially since Capricornus left. I'd recommended anything from Raiders of Revenge up till now. It's not that the old Graveland is bad, it's just not as good. If you want to check them out, go for the songs Blood Of Christians On My Sword and Tyrants of Cruelty.

I've never heard a nazi-metal band (or rather if it happened I didn't realize it, but if Angel Of Death could be label in this way....well, I'm proud to say that I know at least one nazi song)... could be this moment the better one to begin????
