Band Biography:

In 1992, SUICIDAL WINDS was conceived by Peter Haglund and Mathias Johansson after their former band KRISTOS MORTIS had dissolved. It was only in 1994 that they released their first rehearsal demo entitled "The Road To...", but it was spread in a rather small extent due to the extremely primitive nature of the rehearsal tape. Finally another new demo was released entitled “Massacre” with 6 new original tracks and 2 Hellhammer covers, it also features the introduction of a new bass player Andreas Ström. By 1997, they released yet another demo called “Aggression”, and this time with an inclusion of a new drummer Martin Hogebrandt. 4 brand new original songs plus a cover song from Sepultura’s classic “The Antichrist” on this third demo, and their final and fourth demo entitled “Definitely War” wasn’t released until May 1998.

Late 1998 saw a new light for SUICIDAL WINDS. They got a 2-album deal with Germany’s No Colours Records. In 1999, SUICIDAL WINDS released their maiden debut album "Winds of Death", which was recorded with producer Robert Bengtsson of Grief Of Emerald fame, who also eventually came to produce all their future full length albums. "Winds of Death" was released on both CD and LP version, and have received many great responses everywhere.

In year 2000, SUICIDAL WINDS self-financed a split 7” with Black Thrashers BESTIAL MOCKERY in limited edition of 300 copies and it was sold out very fast. Their final full length album with No Colours Records entitled “Victims In Blood” was released in 2001. Another 7” EP was recorded entitled "Misanthropic Anger" and released under Warlord Records from Italy. SUICIDAL WINDS went on to record a new MLP/MCD entitled “Crush Us With Fire” to introduce new blood Emil Johansson (ILL NATURED), Fredrik Andersson (AXIS POWERS) and Thomas Hedgren (PSYCHOMANTUM), replacing Andreas and Martin. 4 brand new songs were desecrated, including a GROTESQUE cover and a live track from 2001.

SUICIDAL WINDS leaves No Colours Records in 2003 and signs a new 2-album deal with Polish label Agonia Records. During the same year, some gigs were done. Year 2004, their third full length album “Wrath Of God” was released. SUICIDAL WINDS released a split album CD entitled “From Conflict To Conquest” with GRAVEWURM from USA, released under Time Before Time Records from Poland in 2006. Some high profile gigs were also done in Sweden and Germany and one show was recorded live at Festung Open Air festival, so SUICIDAL WINDS decided to release this live CD entitled “Total Live N’ Death”, which was released under Pulverised Records (Singapore).

Year 2007, SUICIDAL WINDS’s new album entitled ‘Chaos Rising’ has already been completed and it has said to be their most extreme and aggressive album to date. The new album was created at Studio Evocation with producer Vesa Kenttäkumpu from the band EVOCATION, and 11 devastating new tracks on ‘Chaos Rising’ will be released by Pulverised Records on digipak format.

These guys have been consistently delivering the same neckbreaking death/thrash sound and I just love it (especially Matte's drunken vocals, hehe). The new album definitely has the best production on a SW-album; faves include "World's End," "Annihilation and Chaos" and the ultimate necro ballad of them all, "Ballade of Death." :heh:

And yeah "Slowly We Frost" is one of the better intros IMO. Nice way to set up the in-your-face blasting of "World's End."

:headbang:
