Sun Caged
Promo - Summer 2002
By Mark Bridgeman
Not being a great fan of progressive metal, I'm sure some elements of this, Sun Caged's third demo, went over my head. I enjoyed it, anyway. The guys can play, and considering they're appearing at this year's Prog Power festival in Europe - and that they're unsigned, to boot - should show that they mean business. And they deliver.
The three tracks on this demo are chock-full of melody, intricately-woven guitar leads, and that stuttering, time-change-adept backing line that proggies seem to love so much.
A solid effort, and one that even non-prog fans should find enjoyable.
