Super Bowl Half Time Show

I thought Fegie sang Sweet Child O' Mine pretty decently. Way better than I imagined when I started hearing the intro riff.

You all fail for watching, doing so is one of the most insanely idiotic things you can do. At no point does it make any sense to watch this mind numbingly dumb game. Everyone in this thread is now dumber because of what has been watched. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.

You also fail if you don't get that quote.

Sound guys fucked the Black Eyed Peas HARD. Wow. All live mic, no backing tracks at all, vocals completely dry. Whoever did this was out to embarrass the shit out of them.

Not that that gives them any excuse to suck at singing their own songs.

Played guitar during first half, watched Sweet Child O' Mine when my mom started screaming, then went to the gym.

It was completely empty.

Best super bowl ever!

Sound guy didn't know how to use a compressor on fergie.
There were backing tracks though. Lots of times artists pre record live backing tracks and lip sync to that to make it seem live, even though sometimes williams mouth wasn't matching up perfectly.
Visuals were amazing...it was indeed painful to listen to...

Dude, were you even listening to it? There is no way those vocals were pre-recorded. You think Interscope would listen to that and let it fly? Fergie's mic was even muted for the first 10-15 seconds of the set. The mics cut out more than once. The vocals were completely dry, no reverb, nothing, except for some autotune on the one dude's voice for effect, and extremely to the front of the mix.

There were no backing vocals (which is what I meant by tracks, not the music) whatsoever and the music itself was so low it was barely audible.

I really think it was the artists' monitor mix that was sent out to broadcast instead of the actual mix, probably on purpose. You can't just "fuck that up" in my professional opinion. It sounded like someone doing really terrible, off key covers of Black Eyed Peas songs.

Yes you are right, I was only talking about a couple small parts, that's why I said the dude murdered fergies vocals especially, it sounded like the compressor was turned off in the chain lol. Like I noticed ushers vox were mostly all backing track, he sang Oh my God 4 out of the 25 somethin times it played. And William had a spot where they zoomed in and his mouth was not matching up with the super tuned part. (I forgot which song)

I agree with you man, it was awful. +1 on the monitor mix hahahahahahahaha!

Glad I stopped watching this shit at the age of 8. Fucking commercial driven sport and terrible half time shows still make me question why anybody watches this crap. I'm sure most of you that did watch would like your day back lol

I watched the superbowl a little late cuz my friend wanted to wait for more guests and he was recording it on the dvr. So the plan from the get go was to simply fast forward the half time show.
But I was curious how the mix would sound so I asked them to just play a little bit. Needless to say after only hearing a couple of minutes I agree with everyone here. That was just a horrible mix.

I literally laughed out loud at 2:50. And I didn't hear any real singing from Usher - by the way, that is THE WORST song I have heard in a long long time.

The performace sucked...but Fergie was hot!
Anyway the most incredible thing on these half time shows, it's the time they need to set a stage like that...I remember last year with U2, 5 minutes to set an enormous stage. Amazing
