he won't get charged... well, not if there's any sense at all left in the world. As i just posted somewhere else, he was just doing his civic duty as a good citizen, helping the police and security to apprehend a criminal.

It CANNOT be assualt if you use force to "prevent the continuance or completion of an offence".... uh, as long as it's is not a disproportionate level of force. A little hip n shoulder like that is hardly excessive.

It's against ICC regulations to take violent action against a player, umpire, official or spectator. But in Roy's case probably nothing will happen because it's against the rules for spectators to be on the pitch. And yes, like Richie so wryly pointed out, he just turned the wrong way while trying to avoid the fellow.
