T-Bone SC400

Okay... I *know* this mic is far from high-end. It *is* cheap chinese made shit.

But it sounds fantastic! I fucking love it. I used it on my Marshall 2x12 a week or so ago, and got a really good high-gain rhythm tone. I used it today as a snare bottom microphone, and again... lovely sound. Sounds rounded off and smooth.

Most of the cheap chinese mic's coming out these days are pretty good to be honest. The noise floor can be a bit higher than on more expensive mic's but the sound quality is generally pretty good.

Potentially, yeah. They're a cardioid pattern, but I've not been able to find any specs or diagrams on them. It's a LDC... and they're made for Thomann I believe.

The website mentions it has a 100hz lowcut switch, but mine doesn't have that. So I think it's quite an old version - I bought it over a year ago 2nd hand on another forum.

I love my SCT700. I use it for clean vocals and acoustic guitars!
Then I love the SCT800 that's in my engineer's studio (where I bring all my clients to track) for growling vocals and female vocals. So round and warm...

I have an SCT700 for vocals and it sounds great.
Also have an MB75 (sm57 copy) and it sounds really cool too!

I was really curious about the MB75 actually, because they're bloody cheap as chips. How does it compare to a real SM57? Is it capable of the same kind of stalwart usage that the SM57 is?

I'm definitely gonna order me a couple of them. For fifty quid, two mic's that seem to be very usable is not a bad deal!

Used one live a few times ( the band owned it ) and I didn't like it on guitars. Found it to be too trebly and not terribly clear. Ended up swapping it out for a good old 57 during the sound checks every time.
That said most of the other t bone mics I've used were very decent for the money. Especially if you want to try out some different mics like ribbons or need extra SDC's for spot micing, for room pairs or for experimenting with different micing techniques that you need non-cardoid mics for.
