Metal Evilution is proud to announce our newest addition to our management/booking roster in young Tasmanian Heavy Metal act TABERAH. As the first step in a new chapter for Metal Evilution we couldn't be happier to secure a working partnership with one of the most exciting young acts we have come across in the past few years.
Inspired by their strong musical bond, Jonathon Barwick (Guitar/Lead vocals) and Tom Brockman (Drums) created, in 2004, what is now known as TABERAH. The bands sound and live performance is derived from a vast variety of musical influences including the traditional heavy metal sound of Iron Maiden, the rock n roll heart of AC/DC and the over-the-top and often tongue-in-cheek theatrics of Queen, all with a slightly modern and original twist.
Although somewhat out of place in a land known for its world class extreme metal, Taberah forged its way into the Tasmanian metal scene in early 2006 with a string of high energy and over-the-top performances showcasing the bands unique brand of Heavy Metal.
Throughout their time on the Tassie live circuit, Taberah have played alongside many local legends and have, on numerous occasions, supported some of the finest heavy metal acts that have ventured down from the mainland and beyond including LORD, Blessed by a Broken Heart, Shackles, Ruins, L.U.S.T, Separatist, Mephistopheles, The Wizard and Psycroptic.
Late 2006, Taberah released their first demo titled EXORDIUM. A limited amount of copies were produced and all were sold out within two weeks. Unfortunately many fans missed out.
In early 2007, Taberah released 300 copies of the REHEARSAL DEMO cassette. The tape received very positive feedback from fans and critics alike, both in Australia and overseas.
After a period of time off and multiple line-up changes, Taberah gave the mainland a small taste of their live show in a one off Melbourne show in September 2009 supporting LORD. This created an exciting buzz not just in Melbourne, but in other areas of the country. December then saw the band releasing an EP entitled LIVE ish which perfectly highlights the sound they produce onstage as well as the passion and energy in which it is delivered.
TABERAH are currently working on their debut full length album with acclaimed producer, JOE HALEY of Psycroptic. It is due out for release in the coming weeks..
With TABERAH now linking up with one of Australia's hardest working and successful Heavy Metal promotion/management forces in Metal Evilution (M.E) it seems only a matter of time before the rest of the country and overseas Metal markets experience the power and attitude of this talented band. With previous Melodic Metal acts DARKER HALF and TRANSCENDING MORTALITY making a splash through representation with M.E. we feel very confident TABERAH will be the latest success in what is now developing into a very strong tradition Metal scene that Australia has to offer.
A national album launch tour is to be announced soon and also TABERAH will appear at the Sandringham Hotel on Dec 31st in Sydney as part of the huge New Years Evilution event.
