I am trying to help a friend on a mix, and he wants me to use a software like Teamviewer to remote control his computer and help him. However, Team viewer does not support audio streaming. Any ideas if this would even be possible and what software we could use to achieve this?

Could also be cool for mix tutoring or something.

I would love to know a good option for this too, I've got a friend who's a mindblowingly good guitarist and we're gonna do a couple covers together, but the oceanic distance prevents me from actually recording him, and he has no idea about doing it. Skype is what I thought, but it would be easier with something like Ninjam, perhaps? Never tried it, but I'll look into it

If you have multi in/out interface you can use pair of cables to rout software out to first input pair. It's needed to override problem video capturing devices recording soundcard when used ASIO drivers.
You can check that idea here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7cJIXqYzD0

If you need to record dude over seas than I think it's better that he records himself and send his tracks to you.
