ted is rumored to enter the studio in 2009 to make his final album before turning to a career in politics. best part is derek st. holmes is rumored to be working with ted on this album

Very cool. His last few albums have been pretty good (especially given his new wave crap he released in the 80s). Love Grenade had a few really good songs, including the title track. He also put on one helluva show when I saw him in July.

Politics should be interesting. Hopefully he runs for governor of Michigan, he'd have no trouble garnering votes.

agreed. love grenade and craveman are great albums. i'd rank his solo albums as follows:
1 ted nugent
2 cat scratch fever
3 spirit of the wild
4 free for all
5 love grenade
6 craveman
7 weekend warrior
8 scream dream
9 state of shock
10 little miss dangerous (his only good 80's album on atlantic records)
11 nugent
12 if you can't lick 'em...lick 'em
13 penetrator

of course double live gonzo is a classic live album but not sure about any of his other live stuff

Overall, I more or less agree with that ranking. Weekend Warriors is a great tune (and a total metal track). WRIF (Detroit's Rock Station) plays it every Friday at 5:45 on the drive home.

i guess the bigger question would be what are you favorite nugent songs?

Haven't really thought about it. I'll give it a go:

Cat Scratch, Strangehold, Klusterfunky (Live this song was heavy as shit), Love Grenade, Fred Bear, Little Miss Dangerous, Weekend Warrior, Stormtroopin', Free For All, Motor City Madhouse.

Also, I love Journey into the Center of the Mind - very heavy for its day.

great list, you got most of mine. i'd say in no order

fred bear
crave
scream dream
little miss dangerous
cat scratch fever
stranglehold
just what the doctor ordered
free for all
paralyzed
lovejacker

i just noticed how many great songs were left off my list:
need you bad
still raising hell
state of shock
wango tango
a thousand knives
fist fightin son of a gun

oh well the list can go on forever

i know double live ginzo is a classic but what about ted's other live releases (intensities in 10 cities, live at hammersmith, full bluntal nugity and sweden rocks)?

Nugent is hardly extremely right wing (which is just before anarchism). Certainly he's a Republican but he's not a Bush (neo-con) Repiblican.
yes he is... he is a Repoobligan like all the rest... anyways as for his music... i never got into it... I always thought he was overrated... but may give his music another try... but definetly not his idiotic political views...

Well, after doing more research, he's much more Neo-Con than I thought - certainly nowhere to the extent that Palin is, but I'll leave this politics thing alone for the sake of the board. (if you'd like to debate and discuss this more, we can do that via PM)

Despite his political views, I think he'd make an interesting politician, if for nothing else than sheer entertainment value. He's quite the character both on-stage and during interviews and has charisma. I'm sure he'd make a good leader (regardless of policy). You've got to be a decent one, leading both thousands of fans, and a hunting team so that you don't get eaten by an animal that can eat you.
