Dark, gothic metal roll fused to a rock 'n' roll sensibility - that's what you can expect to hear from Tenebre's fourth full-length release. After a line-up change consisting of a new vocalist and lead guitarist, Tenebre have recorded a rather bland collection of dark and groovy goth 'n' roll tracks with a more metal vocal stance.

Coming across like a mix of mid-era Paradise Lost, The 69 Eyes and Danzig, Tenebre perform pleasingly melodic tracks, but sadly don't seem to have the songwriting nous to really grab the listener's interest. it's all written in conventional rock structure, and while the solos are nice and the tracks themselves are full of pleasingly gritty, roaring riffs and low-pitched vocals, it still remains something of a background music album.

There's a sadly obvious element of inconsistency in the album too - tracks like 'Nocturnal Rhapsody' and 'Alienation' have a certain charm and urgency to them which is rather lacking in the latter half of the album - perhaps this would have been more satisfying as an EP release?

Sorry Tenebre - you really must do better than this...

Heh, I liked this one! It wasn't anything special, but it was just so much fun, in a Monster Magnet-gone-Type O Negative kind of way. :)
