TESLA guitarist Frank Hannon paid tribute to David Bowie by performing the song "Space Oddity" aboard DEF LEPPARD's inaugural "Hysteria On The High Seas" this past weekend. Check out fan-filmed video footage below. Bowie died earlier this month, two days after his 69th birthday. Bowie died just three days after releasing his 25th studio album, "Blackstar". The singer, songwriter, actor and fashion icon reportedly kept his 18-month battle with cancer so private that even close friends weren't aware of his struggle. Belgian theatre director Ivo van Hove, who worked with David on the "Lazarus" Broadway production, told DutchNews that Bowie told him he had liver cancer, because he needed him to know he would be too sick to attend rehearsals. "He said that because he knew that he may not always be able to be around," Ivo van Hove told DutchNews. "Bowie was still writing on his deathbed, you could say," Ivo told the site. "I saw a man fighting. He fought like a lion and kept working like a lion through it all. I had incredible respect for that." Just a month before his death, David attended the premiere of "Lazarus" in New York City in what turned out to be one of his last public appearances. FRANK HANNON BAND's latest album, "World Peace", is available at FrankHannon.com.
