Testament recording line-up.

Unfortunately Nick Barker will not be recording with TESTAMENT on this new album, due to Homeland Security and International Work Visa issues. Rather than delaying this long awaited return of TESTAMENT, the band has chosen to recruit Paul Bostaph, long time friend and member, to record on the much anticipated album, which is tentatively scheduled for a spring 2008 release via Nuclear Blast. Paul Bostaph will join the ranks alongside originating classic thrash legends Chuck Billy on vocals, Alex Skolnick on lead guitar, Eric Peterson on rhythm guitar and Greg Christian on bass.

Nothing against Nick Barker, but I think Paul Bostaph fits the Testament style more. This should be good.

Their styles are different for sure. Barker doesn't seem like a good fit, but I haven't seen him play with them...

On the surface it may not seem like he would work because of his previous work (Cof, Dimmu, Lock-up, touring with Borknager), he is a huge fan of old school metal, especially Iron Maiden. I think Nick would do a great job working with one of the premier acts in the industry. I'm not knocking Paul at all. Regardless, this album should kill and I can't wait to hear it!
