I started this thread on the In Flames forum. It relates to criticism towards the American government, how we can make it better and the world at the same time. It's what YOU can do to preserve you're family's and planet's future.
I suggest my first post in the link I gave above first, becuase it's really easy to see flaws in the rambling. It is VERY long, so make sure you have a good 20 minutes to actually read through it and the responces. As the conversation progressed, I revised it all and wrote this, it's a lot more concise:
My responce:
Of course people have visions! That's something I'd never claim to define. My vision is shared by many so I'd like help explaining it (Thanks Silver Incubus). It is demonstrating the importance of every moment we share together and the faith in our race's future however you can. Volunteer for projects in the community, don't litter, recycle, do your best to conserve, don't take shit from your boss or people working against you, get more vacation time. Wanna help with the list? I can remember in high school people would call others a tree-hugger or environment fags or even snicker at a friend for picking up bottles and other garbage off the ground. It's nice to know those people like to demonstrate no respect for the ground they walk on.
My goal relies more on thinning the wide empty space between citizens and the government. Just becase we exist in a shell called bodies does not mean we can be contained. Appearance and style have taken such a strong roll in evolution that the importance of so many don't want to think about life outiside their bubble. I say, go out of your way to learn about someone's problem and help him or her out. Make a difference that will be remembered. Some how, we must create such a strong voice that when the problems on this planet (such as 50% people living in poverty, unnecessary war purchases, corruption in the government, etc.. [what else do you want changed?]) go unplanned for change, then our government should feel threated by the people. How much power do you yourself have in a decision governments make? However little/much, it's not enough. How about creating a Citizens office? 100 people can be cycled through it (that want to) once a month and have a strong say in decisions of state and national politcs. Of course we'd have to be allowed to go into their dark room of secrets!
In all this world, I don't see anythign more important than working for my goal. I need other people to join me and grow off of one another. And further, I gotta understand my goal a lot better if i'm ever goin to convince a guy that would cut you then steal your wallet.
By "me" changing the world, I don't expect to even notice it in general public unless I can think of a way to express ideas that would make your leg hair raise. I'm going to start off now and express thoughts to people who will listen and see where it goes from there.
In my life, I have no idea what most people think. Growing up in a wealthy suburb my teen years clouded my vision on, well, everything. All i've written has been gained in a year or so, from reading and watching the news, listening to music and thoughts from family friends on campus. I haven't lived the life of a tax paying full time worker, I haven't experienced how much things really suck! However I'm ready to play in the great vastness of ideas contained in America and abroad. I know one thing, this is where it starts. Forget everything that's been fed to you and relearn your past from a new prospective.

Come on, give us some responces. I know you have to have some sort of opinion on this so let it loose

Heh... do you think you're the only one who has a vision? Are you actually willing to work for your goal? Lots of people think they can change the world, but how are you gonna manage that, really?
what the hell is your goal exactly?
