The Answer - Rise

A couple of days ago I came across some comments about this album that made me stand up and take notice, and have since obtained a copy and am now giving it a first listen. Great old school 70s rock (think Led Zep, Stones & Aerosmith) with modern day production. The album is their debut from 2006, which surprises me that I haven't heard of them before. They have played support to the Stones, Aerosmith, and Whitesnake and are opening for AC/DC on upcoming dates.

Anyway, great stuff, so if 70s rock is what you like, give them a listen.

Their first one (self-titled) is great. "Maybe Someday" is a personal favourite from that album.

Nah not really.

Listening to Black Stone Cherry now, and yes I am probably enjoying this even more! Not as genuine 70s rock sounding, heavier hard rock, but great!

Since this thread I have listened to BSC a bit more and am really enjoying them. They remind me a lot of Alter Bridge (whom I love) but a tad more stripped back, simple old school rock sounding. Similar vocals though. Great stuff.

Do it. Their first album 'One Day Remains' is solid, but the follow up 'Blackbird' is an absolute cracker.
