Ahh its sad that these places close.
We dont have many places like that here in good ol Blighty.....well that are still going.
Newcastle Mayfair.....Demolished.
Newcastle Riverside......Trendy Wine bar or a strip club cant remember which
Newcastle Broken doll.....demolished for a bypass.
Arena in Middlesbrough, Formally called the Rock Garden......Shutdown
Blaises, Middlesbrough.......Shutdown
Marquee CLub, London......Shutdown and its name sold.
It just seems unless I want to go and stand in a university with rubbish acoustics I cant get to see a small and upcoming band. I cannot go and party with a band after a gig now, because there are no good rock clubs to go to.
We do have a largish Arena in newcastle, I went to see Guns and Roses there the other week, and the acoustics are abysmal, we need GOOD venues in the UK
I think I'm gonna upsticks and move to the US. Any suggestions on where to go live?

I liked that club! Good memories there. Los Angeles my friend! Tons of clubs for all kinds of music, everything from the peanut shelled floor of a dingy dark bar with no PA, to the cozy but personal settings with master musicians performing at the Baked Potato, to the wonderful larger venues like the Galaxy Theater and of course arenas too. There are enough to keep you busy all month.
