Sometimes an intro can make a song great or pretty mediocre (something bands like Overkill have proven time and again E. N. D.) so anyways, what do y'all think are some killer intros??

Here's a couplefew for me: Grave Digger: The Graver Digger...I feel like I just got trip backwards into a grave, realing in Hell's vortex.
Sentenced: Nepenthe...totally a beautiful song.
Bruce Dickinson: Book of Thel... like I am opening my eyes to evil's existence for the first time.
Iced Earth: The Coming Curse...my GOD, a minute-and-a-half of chilling piano and then the wheels of doom are suddenly in motion, grinding you into less than dust! Ahhh!!!!!
Sepultura: Altered Beast...before tribal was such a fad, it was pretty damn cool when done right, as here.

Anthrax has had a few good ones over the years. Intro to Reality/Belly of the Beast, Time, Potter's Field, and Madhouse just off the top of my head.

I always liked the pinion intro on NIN's Broken, To All the Girls on the Beastie Boy's Paul's Boutique, but my all time favorite is probably Run-DMC's Tougher than Leather....

j

megadeth set the world on fire
anthrax caught in a mosh
queen death on two legs
slayer raining blood
metallica dyers eve
megadeth last rites/ loved to deth
megadeth train of consequenses
anthrax packaged rebellion

...and it's not an intro, but the outro to anthrax's "invisible"
is as killer as any way to end a song - ever. Slowly grinding down to a twisted stop.

many more, too many more intros to list..........

Anthrax are defintely good with intros...are they the only ones so far to use a cello? AIR has a good metal intro. Raining Blood is Slayer's best to me. Lizzy Borden's Coucil of the Cauldron gives me goosebumps. Franciscan monk chanting like Jag Panzer's Unworthy, Iron Maiden's Sign of the Cross. Helloween's Deliberately Limited Preliminary Prelude Period in Z is absolutely classic (and Invitation and Initiation!)

The best intro I've ever heard is King Diamond's "Out From The Asylum", following with Mr. Dee's kicking ass drum fills starting "Welcome Home", I always nearly crap my pants when I hear it... oh wait, not really... :D
