Unfortunately for the state of California, Arnold will probably win. What the state of California desperately needs is a massive dose of good old fashioned CONSERVATIVE common sense. You will not get that with Arnold. Listen to what he really says. He may have that (R) next to his name, but he speaks like a democrat. Don't be fooled!!

Gory Elephant, I feel sorry for you for not appreciating the true power of Arnold. He is going to be the best Governor of all time. I would definitely vote for him if I lived in California.

Yeah, if radical Saddam supporters decide to try and bomb California, Governor Arnie can just take them all on single-handed and save the day after a climactic, skyscraper-rooftop battle with the leader of the terrorist cell, set to an appropriately dramatic symphonic score...

*cough*

Sorry, got carried away...

I have a question for you all, When was the last time you heard a democrat or republican disaagree with eachother over anything actually important? THEY ARE THE SAME! When people in this country, and around the world realize that politicians all beleive in the same thing, themselves and money, their will be hell for those jackyl's to pay, maybe not in my lifetime, but hopefully soon.

Why do you say that Arnie will be the best Governor of all time?

I am gonna regret this, but that is the most mind-bogglingly stupid thing I have heard anyone say in a long time.

First of all, when was the last time we heard a democrat or republican disagree with each other over anything important???????? Where have you been for the past two years????? For the past two years we have seen the democrats and republicans arguing and disagreeing most vehemently over probably the most important thing in the world. That is, whether or not to go to war.

They also disagree, most viciously, on a daily basis about any number of important things, such as socialistic goverment programs (which Arnold, much to the dismay of his fellow republicans, seems to support), taxation and wealth redistribution, collective economic solutions, affirmative action, etc.... Are you saying that none of these things are "actually" important????

Besides, EVERYONE believes in "themselves and money". How does that make democrats and/or republicans any different???

I'd vote for Larry Flynt. Just seeing the Governor of California and the owner of Hustler eing the same person is priceless. I wonder what kind of "frienge benefits" his staff would get. hahaha.

Gory Elephant- it is so sad that you have been blinded by your conservativism. You have lost touch with the facts. Yet, on many topics in principle, I very much agree with you- I do not support affirmative action, nor many of our failed social programs, nor do I think most of our present social programs have any positive effect on the future or even the present( although health care seems to me to be a right all americans shiuld have if we are going to live under this tyrannical, money hungry, murderous state, they at least ought to keep us alive)

Many democrats supported the war, and very few raised a big stink. And just what may I ask has the war brought us? Nothing but more military spending, and big reconstruction contracts that help out the ever so greedy defense contract industry, the oil industry , and haliburton.

The Clinton administration with democratic support did the most to curtail welfare spending- and put strict limits on welfare- than any other american president.

Affirmative action was upheld by a conservative supreme court.

And the wealth distribution your punk president W. put in place- gave more money back to the wealthy- at the expense of our growing national debt.

I believe what AJ Death is trying to explain is that both political groups are guilty of the same idolarity- worshipping money and pol power- and doing little at all to help the citizens- nor to fix a gov in which serious cracks are starting to appear. Both groups are guilty- and part of the problem. It is obvious that neither group wants to fix anything they are responsible for- instead they would rather hurl pointless blame at the other party for the problem- rather than address the real problem- a broken political system.

He will be the best Governor ever because he is a real person first of all. He has millions of fans around the world and he is awesome to all of them. Fame does not affect him in a negative way, he uses it in a positive way. He knows how to stand up to something, persevere, and push through any problem he faces. I assume relatively few people on this board are serious weightlifters, but there is more to it than you think. Arnold has stood up against a bar with over 400 pounds on it, he can easily stand up to some 180lb flabby nerd running against him trying to break him down emotionally. His dedication to whatever he sets his mind to will be more powerful than any punch he could ever deliver into the weak gut of his opponents, ultimately he will gain the respect of you non-believers.

Those who don't show him respect will be terminated.

Wow, a breath of fresh air!! Thank you kindly for not just saying: "dude, yer gay". Which, I realize in hindsight, was just about exactly what I did to AjDeath. For that, I ask his/her apology.

Allow me, if you would be so kind, to respond to your comments.

1) What I believe that AjDeath was talking about was disagreement between democratic and republican POLITICIANS. Surely you cannot deny that there has been much fighting about the war between democratic and republican politicians? Even if it was not ALL of them? What I find even more despicable, however, are the democrats who, in order to save their political asses because they KNEW that voting against such a popular war would be suicide, voted to authorize the use of force, only to turn around and condemn it almost immediately after the war actually started. They say things like "oh, I thought we were voting to use force only if the UN sanctioned it". Spare me. They thought nothing of the sort. If they REALLY thought that, they would have made DAMN sure that it spelled it out very clearly.

And, as to what the war has brought us? What I HOPE it has brought us is the long term potential to rid the world of popular support for the types of people who slaughtered thousands of our citizens two years ago. I am hoping for two things: 1) Given the taste of freedom, democracy and a free market, the people of Iraq will eventually find that THAT is the better choice, and that tyrannical Islamo-Fascists are NOT the answer. 2) I am hoping that, again, given a taste of freedom, democracy and a free market, the movement will gain popularity and spread to neighboring countries. This is, I believe an EXTREMELY long term solution, but since you cannot reason or negotiate with religious extremists, I believe it is the only viable one.

2) WIth all due respect, I question the accuracy of your assertions about the Clinton adminstration's attitude towards welfare spending. Perhaps you could discuss this a little further?

3) I submit to you that any court that upheld Affirmative Action was not, in fact, a "conservative supreme court". No matter what. Affirmative Action flies in the face of everything a conservative believes in - self-reliance, individualism, equality in OPPORTUNITY, not -necessarily equality in OUTCOME, and the desire to succeed without handouts from the government, so if this court did, in fact, hold up Affirmative Action, someone was betraying their supposed political ideology.

4) About Bush's wealth distribution, I assume you are talking about the tax cut? First of all, of course the "wealthy" will get "more" money back, but they put in more in the first place. I will lookup the specific statistic as soon as I can, but it is something like people who make over $50,000 pay 80% of the taxes or something like that. Also, may I call attention to the article at:

http://www.nationalreview.com/nrof_comment/comment-reynolds100901.shtml

Which says, among other things:

After the top four tax rates are finally trimmed by 3-4 percentage points in 2007, who gets the biggest tax cut? It certainly isn’t the rich. According to the Democratic staff of the JEC, two-earner families of four earning $40,000 will see their taxes cut by 46%. The tax cut quickly fades to 27% at $50,000, 19% at $75,000, 12% at incomes above $100,000, and zero at $200,000. The zero figure is an exaggeration, requiring implausible assumption, but the general pattern nonetheless remains.

Besides, in the long run, major tax cuts almost ALWAYS lead to economic growth and a healthier economy (see JFK, Reagan, and Clinton's cuts in particular.).

Anyway, just my thoughts.
