The Cult - new album in October

The Cult seems to be back once again and there's a new album entitled "Born Into This" coming out the 2nd of October. Mp3 sample of the single "Dirty Little Rock Star" here.

Their last comeback album, Beyond Good And Evil (2001) was a pretty heavy and good album, not on par with the godly Sonic Temple of course. Nothing is. That one's pretty much the ultimate rock album as far as I'm concerned.

"Beyond Good And Evil (2001)" It's that old, Dam! I liked that cd I was hoping it would be huge for them.

This news made me go back and listen to Electric, and it was awesome rehashing some old-Cult. Except for Born to Be Wild...that, that we won't talk about.

The Cult sounds like they're going in a modern rock direction here. It's a little unsettling and weird too, remembering how SDC and Death Cult sounded. I'm not too enthusiastic... this sounds kind of like Pink Spiders or U2 or some other run-of-the-mill modern rock band to me. Such a shame. I hope the rest of the tracks are better.
