Actually the best thing would require a flux capacitor. Somehow make it so Metallica never became so popular/comercial/ballady.
Make it so that when you say you're a Metallica fan people say, "Are they still around?"
They would rule if they never got an aquired taste for the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ income. And they'd probably be thankful for Napster too.

Actually, that's one of the cool bonuses to having a kid (at least when they geta little older) is you can buy a lot of really cool dvd's and justify it by saying it's for both of you. I'll get Back to the Future and watch it with Kimmy and tell her it was one of my favorites when I was a kid. Also, it's really cool to take them to the comic book store or Dave and Buster's or Toys r Us to look for Star Wars toys and video games. In other words, being a big kid like me stops being pathetic and starts being kind of cute. I can't tell you how many times my married female friends tell me they wished thier husbands did stuff like that with thier kids. This fall, Kimmy is going to her first Bengals game (which means no beer for me, but hey, at least I still get nachos). On the down side, I don't think I'll ever talk her into going to a metal show. She thinks my music is wierd....

BTW, I have been listening to "Ride The Lightning" the last few days (dragged it out of the vault); what a great album. Alas, it is too bad they don't make music like that anymore!

Hey, I like Load & ReLoad. But I don't think of them as "metallica" albums. They would have been better off releasing those 2 under a different band name to save their name. Load and Reload were definatly not Metallica albums nor were they heavy, but I like them. I have a feeling this new album will be ok. Like I've said before, it's gonna be like the black album. Medium ammount of heaviness but catchy. But they will never get back to the 80's era metallica. They're too old, I feel, to go back to that.

I know what you mean, J...I put Spongebob on and say my kid's watching it. He actually does like it now, but not six months ago when I started. But now I can buy Spongebob DVDs and tell myself I'm economizing.

Now I just have to figure out how to get him to get over his fear of Mr. Noodle so I can get my dishes done once in a while...
