The Danzig "cant speak" distorted voice style? What effect?

Any free plugins that will ballpark the distorted voice? I tried a few but they sounded like gritty rather than saturated.

Some ampsims will get you on your way, but it's hard to get that distinct feedback and that certain distortion character. Yet doable..

Yeah, I know that's not really helpful... but I 'm just lucky someone is spreading some Danzig love!
