The ENGL preamp plugin, TSE X30

Its epic alright.
My favorites are definitly the Wagner Sharp, TSE X30 and LePou's SoloC.

Thank you guys, it means so much to me to read this! I've spent an enormous amount of time on research to be able to make the TSE X30, and it feels sooo worth it when I hear people use it :) I just hope my next sim (Peavey) get's even better ;)

If somebody / anybody know where I can get training on how to port these plugins to Mac - let me know!
I would definitely give it a whirl.
:p

Can't wait for the next amp sim dude! Any idea when it will be released?

Also, here is a song I'm working on, I use TSE X30 on it dude - http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3163522/Inhalation Of Bile - Mix 4.mp3 I tried all the other amp sims and TSE sounded the best out of them all :D

Hi,

i've compared X30 with podfarms powerball model using same cab and mic settings. coud sound very close (and well) after some tweaking.

drawbacks of X30: with high gain settings and volume turned up, i can hear a high-frequency tone (piercing in ear) - also on playback switched off ! (using Reaper ...)
Most ENGL Amps have a buildin noisegate. Not checked whether X30 has one too, but in stereo mode it produces annoying noise on that channel, that gets no input for the moment.

good work at all @onqel :headbang:, i'am waiting for X50 too ...

The X30 do not have a builtin noisegate.. It's the first time I've heard of the problem you're describing with the stereo mode.. Can you give me some clues to recreate the problem? Does it happen on both channels? Is the frequency visible in a scope like SPAN ? And is it the latest version?

I don't get ANY noise or problems with the newest version at all, and when the stereo mode is on, I don't get any extra noise either...

The "hissing" noise will be produced by playing back track items with "silent" parts (means all samples are 0). On Areas in the track without items there is no noise. May be it's the same in mono mode (not tested yet).
Ah ok, without any noisegate that was to be expected and it's the normal behavier also of some "real" highain amps :)

The other kind of noise (this high frequency "piercing") is a sine peek at about 5.51 kHz. Can be made visible well with Voxengo Span. Just insert the plugin into an empty track and turn input, gain and volume all up. You needn't start playback to hear it !

I'am workin with Reaper and couldn't check any other DAW for the same effect.
I've loaded the version (V1.5) of X30 mentioned in the above link ...
