Apparently there was a band from New Jersey called Anathema. I was playing something from Eternity on my radio show and I got a call from a listener who said there was a band called Anathema that was around in the late eighties.

also searching on P2P programs I found something called

Anathema "Crusadors of Damnation"

Intro is keyboards and 2nd is like death metal, but nothing like Anathema's known demos

How come some bands can't use a name or are forced to change their name because another band with the same name exists, and others can get away with it?
