The genre of bodom!

So we all know cob are calling themselves just extreme-metal and COB had been called everything between nu-metal and black metal...!

So I made this thread just for fun to hear the public opinion of the fans.
In which genre/s you think COB belongs to?

And yes, he did mention extreme metal after that. But that's probably related to the new stuff only.

Many people will also say how they were "atmospheric melodeath with black metal influences" back in 97, and how they've turned into "thrashy melodeath"

Yea I think the extreme-metal thing its related to the newer stuff, too!

I would call the older stuff neoclassical-black metal (SW-HB) and FTR Melodeath because theres not much left the neoclassical things in FTR and after HCDR they've completely gone, so it sounds more like a mix of (modern) thrash metal and melodic.

If there was a widely identified unofficial subgenre term bodom-metal, which bands would you categorize to it? Of course the melodic death metal ones. Not black, not power, not speed metal bands. End of story.
