"Swedish thrashers THE HAUNTED are scheduled to enter Antfarm Studios in Aarhus, Denmark in May with producer Tue Madsen to begin recording their new album for a tentative late October release via Century Media Records. THE HAUNTED's Per Möller Jensen will record the drums at Puk Studios in Randers, Denmark during the first week of May. The vocals will probably be recorded at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden. The plan is to have everything mixed and mastered in June.

Commented THE HAUNTED frontman Peter Dolving: "We're going forward. This is exciting and scary. So far we got 12 songs that are evolving smoothly. So far I'd say the stuff is much heavier than previous records, I get a feeling like [AT THE GATES] meets KING CRIMSON.

"Oh, I don't know — it's hard to describe but personally I think we're coming up some heavy shit. Sometimes I feel like 'WHOA! This is turning into a PINK FLOYD record for the dysfunctional.'

"It's nice for a change to have a good rehearsal space in Gothenburg this time and the possibility to communicate with our computers instead of having to play stuff over the phone at two in the morning, especially now since we've moved out all across Sweden. Well, I have a really good feeling and I'm really looking forward to recording this monster..."

THE HAUNTED's fourth album, "rEVOLVEr", entered the Swedish album chart at position No. 18 upon its release in October 2004. The follow-up to 2003's "One Kill Wonder" was recorded at Gothenburg's famed Studio Fredman (IN FLAMES, DIMMU BORGIR, ARCH ENEMY) with co-producers Patrik J. Sten and Fredrik Nordström and mixed at Denmark's Antfarm Studio by Tue Madsen. The album was released as jewel-case CD and limited edition digipak (each with a different cover), featuring two special bonus tracks, "Fire Alive" and "Smut King"."

The Haunted is so shitty. Thats my scientific evaluation.

People calling the Haunted thrash is ridiculous.

You know mainly the reason I started this thread here
is to prove to myself I'm not mad.
In another forum I'm moderating, e-v-e-r-y-o-n-e just worship The Haunted
to a point where they even liked the new album...
and while I really liked 2 of their albums (self title and The Haunted Made me Do It) I can't say I "worship" them.
yeah they're good, yeah their new stuff SUCK ASS.
Now, here I am reading posts on that other board and thinking I'm going nuts.
So, I started this thread here, hoping the the good people on the RC
won't disapoint me, and prove my sanity.
thanks guys!!!!!
<3 !

I think the haunted were so fucking hyped and overrated
theyre not shit, but when the first album came out the mags were all creaming over it being the re-invention and savior of thrash

pish, it was ok, but if it wasn't for 'names' in that band they'd still b doing demos

I once had the pleasure of seeing them live, they were ok
then ENTOMBED came on and effortlessly blew them away
