you know i don't think i would call Smoke Dreams a metal store anymore, its cd section is now worser than the one at any HMV store, and it longer has the feel of a metal store.

bastards

p.s. Peril Underground has a bootleg of the Opeth gig with bonus CH31 interview footage, went to Peril straight after Smoke Punk's

Looks like I'm not going there again, unless I decide to buy a bong or something. :)

At least there is the best metal store in Australia only a few hundred yards down the road......

Do they not even do t-shirts there anymore? If I ever bought another metal t-shirt, they were going to be my store of choice.

As far as CDs and shit go though, Metal Mayhem had it all over them, and they're just down the road. You can't compete with what's become an institution like that.

Smoke Dreams still sells shirts but its seems like it has a smaller selection now, Metal Mayhem also sells shirts, then there's Heartland Records right next to the Victoria Market which also sells metal shirts, and metal, stoner rock and other types of metal and rock cds. (some 2nd hand that are kinda cheap)

The Cd thing doesn't matter. I've bought shitloads of metal CDs in the last few years, but none of them were from Smoke Dreams.

JB buy in bulk etc, and MM just can't compete with them on a lot of things. That's why they don't sell Maiden's back catalogue for instance.

Smoke Dreams had/has (what's with this then and now thing haha) a OK selection of t-shirts...enough i guess, but Metal Mayhem has nearly everything. You could almost say that they have shirts hanging from the front of the store to the back, because it is almost like that. I just like any stores that sell real metal...that's all that matters to me. JB is a preference though, cos it's generally a few dollars cheaper for a CD and what not, but i guess that's business. (Yes I like to get away with spending a few less dollars here and there)

nah i reckon Smoke Dreams had THE best metal selection when it came to short and long sleave shirts and jumpers, sadly i never bought a metal jumper off of them :( i was gonna sometime in the future but now i can't :(

they still have some metal shirts but its not like it use to be :(

and yeah i buy most of my metal cds from JB too because of how much cheaper they are, i think everybody does really :)

Oh hell, that was a bad plug....

I agree with ya though bro - I bought a Venom Hoodie from there that I couldn't find anywhere else..
Bad move peoples.. that sucks.:erk:
It was my place to visit apart from MM on my jaunt's to melb...

I'll be buying from your site once I get a bit of disposable income, Stumeister!

MM is more expensive than JB, but I almost always buy from MM just to give them the support. They give me discounts on everything anyway.
