This week The Metal Madman Radio Show brings you a CD showcase from the band BLACKSMITH with their upcoming release titled "Strike While The Irons Hot"! With BLACKSMITH being from my home town area of Albany, NY I am planning to play many of the bands that rocked the Capital District scene back in the day! Bands such as FREAK NATION, MOMMY DEAREST, MAXX THRUST, TRIFFID, EAST WALL, DIVINE RIGHT A.D., M-16, TALAS, ENERTIA, UNTAMED, VIRGIN, and MORE! On top of that brand new music from SAXON, SYMPHONY X, and SEVEN WITCHES!

WHEN
Wednesday 7-10 PM EST

I really enjoyed your show last night, John! Nice to hear a lot of great music that Albany scene had to offer. Back in the late 80s / early 90s, I used to drive 50 miles each way to go to Saratoga Winners several times a week to see bands like Maxx Thrust, Severe, East Wall, Love & Destruction. M-16 and many others (and going back even further, I saw Blacksmith with Heidi fronting several times at NYC Cafe II on Fuller Road). Those were the days......

Thanks Joe! Good times indeed! I still remember my band RAIN (Also known as MOMMY DEAREST) opening up for you guys for the LAW OF THREE CD release party at winners!

So many great times, and great bands. I am still hoping James gets the Maxx Thrust stuff properly released!

The memories of Saratoga Winners are priceless.

Any news on the Enertia front?

Always had a great time when Untamed and Enertia played with your killer band! I didn't know James was working on releasing the Maxx Thrust recordings - Hearing Tommy Skiff sing that high stuff last night (and stay in key when he did it!) was very cool. The old Blacksmith stuff was fun to hear too. I am planning on ordering a disc...

It has been forever and a day, but work has once again begun on the final Enertia CD, as guitars are being recorded now and vocals will be recorded in the fall (if all goes according to plan!) We're all very happy with the songs we've come up with and hope our friends enjoy it too once it sees the light of day.

There are a lot of projects that we're all working on these days as Scott is helping out Ion Vein and will be singing on their next CD, Scott and Jeff have a project that isn't as heavy as Enertia, but is still very rocking. Roman is looking to finally release his instrumental CD that Jeff and I supplied the rhythm section for that was recorded a few years ago, and finally, 2 weeks ago, all 4 of us were in the studio recording some music with a friend (in an as of yet unamed rock/metal project) that will be coming out at some point this year as well. There is talk of Enertia maybe doing a few live shows as well (that would also include our other guitar player, Dave Stafford!). Nothing concrete yet, but I'm doing my best to trying to make this happen....

Keep up the great job with the radio show! It was the first time I tuned in & it won't be the last. The sample of "Crazy Nghts" you played last night was awesome! They captured the gtr tone perfectly & I look forward to hearing the full version!
