I took a lot of your advice and bought Angra - Temple of Shadows.

and well after 2 weeks of owning it i can say it is one of the most awesome CD's i have had the pleasure of ever experiencing. Now im after more Angra material. Which albums should i be looking at? :Spin:

Wow, that's interesting, because Temple of Shadows is my least favorite Angra cd..it's so 'average' in comparison to their other work, IMO. Glad you're enjoying it though..I'd recommend Holy Land, Angels Cry, and Rebirth next.

I'm going to see them next June in Ascoli (Italy) with Labyrinth and DREAM THEATER! :) And I'm waiting to meet again SymphonyX in my Country.

ToS is a great album. I'm not a big fan of the old Angra at all. If you like the current lineup, stick with them. Rebirth, and Hunters and Prey cream anything the previous incarnation *ever* did, IMO. (Sorry, just can't stand Matos' voice)

I didn't like Matos' voice at first. But after finding out about his career and listening to his compositions, I have come to greatly admire him.
Holy Land is possibly the most incredible CD I own. Every time I hear it, I hear something more intriguing in the mix.
Have you heard Shaman........now renamed Shaaman?

hmmm...i just heard Silence and Distance and i can't understand how anybody can NOT like Matos' voice :erk: i think its beautiful..especially during the melodic sections

I haven't heard Shaaman, but a friend, who is a huge Angra/Matos fan, says Andre doesn't sing as high as he did in Angra. When he sings in falsetto, it makes my skin crawl. If he stayed in chest and middle, I'd probably like him more. I do like some of the compositions he's done. I don't slight him his talent, I just don't like his timbre.

In the new Shaaman work, "Reason", out today, Matos is really showing out all of his voice power and tallent that never have been seen in Angra. So, try Turn Away from this new CD, and I believe your thoughts about him will change.

Angra is a great band, anyway...
