I've never really been conscious about it before, but awesome melodies are awesome, so much emotion can spark from one line of melody. I mean, that's why IAW is so good compared to their later stuff, that's why older melodeath has it's status. It all started when I heard this song and I absolutely fell in love with the melodies.. I don't even like most (female fronted) symphonic/melodic metal, but this is like god-like to me.




any genre, I'm desperate.

i agree Images and words was definately DT´s best album ever with Awake still being pretty good and then blah....

Swallow the Sun - The sun never came album has some great melancholy and dark melodies

Therion has some amazing melody filled tunes. For me ¨The Sirens of the woods¨ is just a masterpiece of melody.

Lost Horizon has some SICK fucking songs. ¨think not forever¨ is amazing
and ¨highlander¨ is just epic especially the ending.
