Actually, I might have to just go over it with you when you get here- this could be another case similar to when Greg and Terran both heard this certain chord in Birth Pains as being a G (THEY WERE WRONG) and argues with me about it for months until I added the bass.

actually none of us were "wrong" because terran and i were writing our parts around the scale of G minor and the riff we were playing over had the low note of Eb going to D which emphasizes D Phrygian. This is in turn comes from the Bb major scale whose natural minor scale is G minor. So while you were right that the riff was in "D", diatonically speaking we were able to construct our parts in the key of G minor and have it work.
