Im not to kind on this "watered down grunge - alternative heavy ballads" type of bands but i found this album to be really good . Great riffs and solos, Tremontti is indeed a great guitar player and i love his tone in this record
This is way different to Creed .

I really like "I know it hurts". Tis a great song.

I dig Tremonti's style though, he's got it all down.

Can't wait to get the album and catch them in November!
Mi(y)les (pun intended....:p) better than Creed.:headbang:

love the bass sound on this. i dont like the snare though. roomy snares are cool. but this one is really far away und has no bottom. i understand that you cant have big bass and big snares,
but this snare... i dont know. guitars are cool, is this mark v?

I'm a big Tremonti fan, more so with Alter Bridge than with Creed, but really looking forward to the new disc. As was noted already - he really does bring it all to the table as a player, pretty much capable of playing anything. Plus he has great tone, phrasing, and feel - the holy trinity of guitar playing.

For those of you that are fans of Mark Tremontis' guitar tone, dont give him the credit.

I've spoken with Jeff Mol who worked with Elvis on the record (and their past records), and he basically said his tone was garbage. They re-amped everything.

Dont get me wrong though, he's still a badass guitar player

im so glad you posted this thread. Im getting sick of the same old death metal/grind core bands day in and day out. I heard a few of the songs and this band is just killer. Tremonti is such a metal head at heart and in this band hes able to let more of it out.:headbang:

I've always liked how Tremonti can write something beautiful like "In Loving Memory" and turn out some serious riffs and solos such as the new song posted above.

lol, he signed his own guitar.

mark seems to be a nice dude. he share his mesa settings on his site (at least last time I´ve checked some years ago). badass guitar player too, altough I´m not much into Alter Bridge.

I remember showing him all his settings in a different vid, inc. the bogner ones and all his gear. Really nice guy from what I've seen.

That may be the case, but his tone when I saw him live on the Blackbird tour back in 2007 killed live as well.

This is a good overview of his gear - perhaps not his settings, but his live rig at least.

Fender,Mesa, and Bogner - nice combination :)

Dig this band. Always thought Tremonti was an underrated guitarist, but I guess that's what happens when you play with Creed and the singer is just so horrible that his gayness drowns out your awesomeness.
